That's the whole app — it records what you say so it can turn it into text. Nothing is recorded until you tap to start, and nothing is saved until you stop.
Your recording is sent to be transcribed, and the resulting text is sent once more to be tidied up. Neither is kept after that. Everything else stays on your phone. The full details are in the privacy policy.
On your phone. If you subscribe and turn on backup, a copy also goes to your own iCloud, which only you can read.
No, unless you turn on "Keep the audio" in Settings. By default the recording is deleted as soon as it's been turned into text. Audio is never included in iCloud backups.
No. If you turn on location tagging, the place name is saved with the entry on your phone and never leaves it. You can turn it off in Settings, and doing so also stops the app asking for the permission.
The free plan keeps one entry a night, up to thirty seconds. Pro raises that to five a night, up to three minutes each. A night runs from 4am to 4am, so writing after midnight still counts as the evening you're finishing.
Deleting an entry gives back the slot for keeping one, but the recording itself was already used. There's a small allowance beyond the limit so a recording that comes back garbled doesn't cost you the night, but it isn't unlimited. Everything resets at 4am.
Three-minute recordings, five entries a night, and iCloud backup. $3.99 per month, or $29.99 per year with a one-week free trial.
